Zaqeer Y. Vehvaria, President
Mr. Zaqeer holds Principal position at Stantec and oversees the US West mechanical engineering practice. Prior to that, he had worked as a mechanical engineer, designing and leading many award-winning, landmark projects across the globe, most notably, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures building in the heart of Los Angeles. He has been a key contributor through his leadership positions and worked with several for/non-profit organizations. His unique blend of business development, engineering, and visionary perspective has allowed him to work on many prominent projects and campaigns. Mr. Vehvaria holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering and lives with his family in Claremont, 2 mins walk from the ICCCS. He and his wife, Dr. Sabah Bux, recently welcomed baby boy Sufyan. He is honored and pleased to serve on the Board of Education and looks forward to working closely with the community members, fellow Board members, staff, and students. His focus will be to develop a comprehensive roadmap towards a school built for future growth.
Dr. Amal ElhajjMoussa Ph.D, VICE PRESIDENT
Dr. Amal has a Ph.D in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction who graduated with distinction, honors, and on the President’s List from Capella University in 2019. She has an M.A in Education Curriculum and Instruction from Cal Poly Pomona, M.A in Education Pedagogy from Lebanese University Beirut, and has post graduate studies in TESOL and English Literature. She was awarded a Credential in Teaching English K-12 by the State of California and is a certified educator in Primary Reading Development and Remedial Reading from Cal State San Bernardino. She has also passed the California Subject Examination for Teachers in English and the California Basic Educational Skills Test. Dr. Amal has had over 15 years of teaching experience. Most notably, for the United Nations Relief And Works Agency (UNRWA) as a High School English Teacher. She has had over 10 years of experience as a Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies teacher and served as Principal in multiple Islamic schools. Dr. Elhajjmoussa has had experience Designing and Implementing Curriculum for different disciplines. She has conducted multiple researches in Education and has two publications. As the Vice President of the Board of Education for ICCCS, she will work towards a strong curriculum development, hiring of highly qualified teachers, ensuring providing latest and quality resources, writing grants, implementing various extracurricular enrichment programs, and work towards creating a school that will prepare leaders for the future.
Mohammed Shaheed, Secretary
Mr. Shaheed is a State of California registered Professional Engineer by profession. He is currently a Branch Chief in State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) focusing on Project, Program, and Portfolio Management, Project Delivery, Risk Analysis and Risk Management, Teambuilding and Succession Planning, Staff Training and Professional Development etc. He holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and has worked in various Private industries prior to joining Caltrans. Mr. Shaheed is a certified Project Manager and holds numerous training certificates relating to Staff and Team Development, Management and Leadership, and works as a trainer for various technical classes. In his personal life, Mr. Shaheed is married with five children and lives in close proximity to ICCCS; all his kids have gone through Islamic Schools and currently he has two of his kids enrolled in ICCCS. He has been involved with various Islamic Centers, Islamic Schools, and is an active community member at ICC for over 13 years serving on ICC Masjid’s Programs, Youth, and Zakat Committees. His focus at ICCCS is overall operational needs assessment and management, fundraising, teambuilding, risk management, and working towards the future vision of our school’s growth and expansion.
Dr. SYED M H rizvi MD
Dr. Hammad is a Family Physician doctor in Upland, CA. He is a Certified Family Physician from American Board of Family Medicine. He graduated from Baqai Medical University, Karachi in 2001 earning M.B.B.S (Bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery). He then completed his residency from Riverside County Regional Medical Centre in Moreno Valley, CA in 2007. He briefly joined Kaiser Permanente and then opened his own practice in Upland CA in 2009. He is happily married and have three kids (2 girls and a boy) and fourth one on the way. When asked about his association to ICCC School, he said "My association to ICCCS started when I enrolled my first child in Pre-K few years back. Me and my wife want our kids to growup in an environment that provides them the learning experience like no other. We wanted them to have Religious Education and also wanted them to master STEM Science. ICCS has provided us the opporutnity to have both. We are thankful to have ICCCS in our area where we can send our kids to get excellent education."
